Norman began drawing around the age of five. He'd draw cars and landscapes. At twelve, Norman enrolled at the Chicago Institute of Art. Norman received training in the art basics from the Institute as well as three years of art at Danville High School. Upon graduation he joined the US Navy to "See the World."
Norman's civilian life's work started as a Mechanical Draftsman that led to being a Designer, Senior-Designer and Mechanical Development Engineer. Although he continued to draw and paint over the years. Upon retirement Norman whole-heartedly pursued drawing and painting as a vocation.
Norman's landscape paintings are created on canvas using pen and ink followed by applying oil paint for color. He loves painting barns and covered bridges in Kentucky. He also paints florals using oils and acrylics as well as abstract subjects with a lot of texture.
